FIRST series

Q:
Hello, I am looking for information on the F1 and F2 airbrushes. Are these some of the earliest Olympos airbrushes? How do they compare to other 0.2mm brushes. Aside from part availability is there a reason not to buy the F1. Thank you so much.

A:
Thank you for your email.
This is about the F-1 and F-2 airbrushes.
The First Series are said to be OLYMPOS's early airbrushes, but I don't know if that's true. However, the name makes me think that they are older models. I don't think that being older necessarily means they are more valuable.
As for the way the mist comes out from the F-1 and F-2,
it's almost impossible to tell the difference when compared to the HP-62B, which is cost-effective and easy to use.
The reason I can't recommend them and why they are priced so cheaply is that
the paint cup of the F-1 is small.
Demand has decreased.
The F-1's paint cup is small, so it is designed to prevent it from obstructing the line of sight.
The F-1 is considered an airbrush for extremely small, delicate work.
The reason they are suitable for parts is that
the F-1's operation push button lever is popular because of its unique shape. Many people purchase the F-1 body for parts.
There is a high possibility that it can be attached to other models of airbrushes due to compatibility, so many enthusiasts replace the operation button lever with the F-1 push button lever to customize them.
However, I personally don't like the push button lever of the F-1 very much. I like the genuine push button lever of the HP-100B the best, and I attach it to other airbrush models to customize them.
The paint cup of the F-2 has a unique shape.
Paint is less likely to spill even when you swing the airbrush around widely.
I think the F-2 is suitable for people who do a lot of airbrush work aimed directly downward.
I think each user has different purposes and preferences.
If you are interested in the F-1 or F-2 airbrush, please buy one and compare it with the feel of other airbrushes.
Thank you.
